Onboard TrainsBuying one-way peak and off-peak tickets onboard trains costs $5.75 to $6.50 more than tickets bought before boarding. Multiple payment options can be used for onboard ticket purchases, including cash, credit cards, debit cards, and Transit Benefit cards. The higher fare does not apply to customers boarding at stations without a ticket office or machine; senior citizens; people with disabilities; or Medicare customers.

Step-up fares and extension-of-ride fares, which are charged for traveling beyond the stations listed on the ticket, are rounded up to the next dollar. Round-trip tickets are not sold onboard.
